Why is my computer slow? I bet you have asked yourself that very question time and time again. And for the most part, you probably just can not figure it out. Ask the guy next to you, and they probably don’t have the foggiest idea either. I mean, you may get the “spyware, virus” answer, but this most likely is not the case.
The first place I check when my computer starts to run slower is the registry. Yes, the registry. Most people don’t even know what, or where the registry is, and especially don’t understand how this can slow a computer down. Let me explain.
Basically, the registry files contain information and settings for all of the software, hardware, operating system software, and anything else running on your computer. Mess any of these files up, and the computer does not know how to function. The computer goes to start up the software, looks for the registry files, and either can not find it or finds something that does not look like it is suppose to look like. It then just sits there: it does not know what to do next. This is where the “hanging” or “locking up” of your computer comes from. These files will need to be fixed.
To fix the registry files, find a good quality registry repair software called registry cleaner and run it on your computer.Top 5 registry cleaners can be found in here: http://www.make-pc-fast.info/index.php?t=makepcf .It will tell you how many files are corrupted and need to be fixed. Just tell the software to fix it and it restores all of the registry files to their correct configuration. It is really that simple. It may take only about 5 minutes to perform this check. And then as a maintenance item for your computer, I would recommend performing this registry fix at least once a week. This will always ensure your registry files are good, and keep your computer running with no slow, freezing and errors. So if you find yourself asking why is my computer slow, I would check the registry files first.
Now you can check out http://www.make-pc-fast.info/index.php?t=makepcf ,there are reviews of top rated registry cleaners and a clear guide to tell you how to speed up your computer. And from there you also can get a free scan to fix any problems such as computers slow, computer freezing, computer errors and getting the blue death screen.
Hope that can help you.

It works very well.
whatever you do, don’t listen to John, look here for a review of the program he recommends (and probably either gets paid to recommend or really has no clue about how crap the program really is) http://www.adwarereport.com/mt/archives/000023.html
PC World magazine has never and would never advertise for such a dodgy product.
I am so sick of people using Yahoo answers to make money by providing you with links for which they get paid when you click on them…
Oh, and more to your question: A simple yet maybe important point is that some broadband internet providers cap your internet usage. That is, if you download more than, say, 15 Gigabytes worth of data in one month, they will slow you down. The actual amount varies from provider to provider. It is a simple point, but maybe that’s all there is to your problem. Do make sure to update your operating system regularly though, clear your internet files (google for a program called ‘ccleaner’, it removes this sort of junk from your pc for free), and use REPUTABLE antispyware programs such as ‘ad-aware’ and/or ‘spybot s&d’.
And the lesson that John taught us is: search the web for reviews on all products that somebody recommends to you (yes, that also counts for the stuff I recommended). If the review uses bold, large fonts and scaretactics (like “SECURE YOUR PC NOW, YOU COULD LOSE ALL YOUR DATA!”) in large red letters, then it is not a genuine review, but advertising for a dodgy product. The following is a good website for reviews on pc security products: http://www.adwarereport.com
Hi,
You should use ” NoAdware”. It’s extremely effective.I came accross this software in PC World magazine.Featured as the top spyware/trojan remover.I don’t have anymore problem with spyware,trojan,pop-up or computer viruses. Now, you can download and try for FREE.check it out here:

mayb the connection have some problem…but after the day is juz ok …
1.You should often clean up temporary files folder.
If you don’t clean up temporary files folder in time, the disk space will be occupied by these temporary files and the speed will be dropped.
2. To clean the valueless data in the registry
There are some great disadvantages in the registry. Security of WIN.INI and SYSTEM.INI that are the configuration procedures of the registry is not high and restricted by the size. That is, once your computer installed a lot of software, the registry was full, causing the speed of the system to slow. If you are a fan of net work, when you browse the network, hackers will change your registry and ultimately can control your computer or steal your important documents by making use of the character that the registry has low security.
BEST WAY: You only need to download system cleaner software to resolve the problems about your PC. It cleans all things that you want, increases your PC speed, You can click the website http://computer-optimize.com/
to find the satisfied software
I wish my solution could help you.
Personal experience
good luck!!
Try adding more memory to your computer. Mine was doing
the same thing. I added 256 mb more memory and now I
am back in good shape.
- Your harddrive could be getting full.
- You have programs open such as Limewire and U-Torrent.
- You’ve not re-started for a few days and your virtual memory is low.
Those are the few things that make my PC run slow.
If your actual MBPS are down, then it could be a problem with your internet provider,so contact them.
Try this to see if it helps you….
1. update AVG and spyware programs
2. enter safe mode and run them. It keeps viruses and trojans from hiding in a running application
3. after removing any spyware/ virus go to Start>Run and type in %temp% and delete everything.
4. Go back to the Run command and type in prefetch and do the same thing delete everything there
5. do a disk cleanup
6.defrag your computer
7. restart the computer in normal mode
inspect your hi-speed modem too for loose wirings or faulty cables. if you are sure that it is not your hardware, you should try contacting your dsl provider if they are experiencing some problems or to let them take a look at your modem and connection.
whats you sys configuration? there could be plenty of reasns , anyways if the problem is not on your side just call your service provider, you have the right as you pay for it
You may have something which your scanner didn’t pick up, so make sure your scanner is 100% up to date. And it maybe because you’re downloading or someone else is probably taking up the bandwidth
How do you know your computer does not have a virus ?
AVG misses more than it finds.
