He was the first car manufacturer to use MASS PRODUCTION. He did not develop the assembly line – that honour belongs to Cadillac who developed tooling and dies to produce identical parts. Incidentally, he worked for Cadillac before starting his own company and so did Henry Rolls of Rolls Royce fame.
Errrrr…. He was the first to make cheap cars for the working class families… Kinda obvious.
Henry Ford put into use the assembly line and had a business philosophy of making his product available to everyone. Where as before his product was only available to the wealthy. His products were vehicles (cars). Now everyone started driving to destinations that used to be only accessible by train or other mass transit. Because cars became so cheap and prevalent. The US government made and Interstate system (big highways) Soon after that hotels and motels started springing up. Next amusement parks (Disneyland). Destinations started popping up everywhere and they didn’t need to be located near the train station they could be spread out all over the place.
The introduction of the assemble line process. He, did not, for example, invent the automobile. His contribution was more toward the economic growth of America than the travel & tourism industry.
