What are some fun things you do with the kids during the summer? I work full time and my kids have to go to daycare, besides the week I’ll get to take them on vacation what else can we do? I’d like to know some fun things to do on the weekends or after a days work and their long day at daycare. Any ideas??
My daughter is 9 and my little boy is 4

how old are your kids??
Hi Tinker,
Home Depot sponsors a program. First Saturday of each month parent/child can assemble a craft, receive a free HD carpentry apron and a pin. The craft usually takes half an hour to assemble, you keep it. Attend several and collect a new pin each time. Usually hold three or four sessions throughout the day.
Does your community have organized parks? They may have a schedule of activities for your children’s age group.
YMCA or youth group in your church will often have “fun days” or weekend gatherings, geared toward working parents and kids from daycare settings.
Can you volunteer to chaperon any outings your daycare provides? My son’s school holds both a zoo trip and a swimming pool event each summer. They encourage parents to join in.
State or local parks are simply the best. Fresh air, activity. I usually have my son draw pictures of different bugs, as we drive to the park. When we arrive, we “hunt” for all the bugs we can find, and mark down any that look like his pictures. i give him stickers or a small prize for finding (more than 10.)
Bike wash. Get them in swimming gear, give them sponges and buckets and a hose. Have them wash their bikes (and why not even your car) and then let them have a water fight.
Good luck to you this summer ~
The name is Priscilla! Well, look take them to a waterpark, to the park. I know that you may come home tired from work. But, use this time to open a relationship with your chuildren also. Listen to what they would like to do. Maybe they like to swim, skateboard, ect… You just have to sit and ask them what are there intrest. Once you get that you will have wonderful ideas to do with them. All I can say is well I will say things below…. If any more help give me a shot at my e-mail: pcarrera14@hotmail.com

i work full time & i have 1 very outgoing, super-athletic child who’s 10. she’s been going to sleep-away camp since the age of 7 (at her request!). i use my tax return to send her every summer…she loves it.
take your kids to a fun sleepaway camp where u don’t have to worry about them for 2 or 3 weeks
