Travel Industry Management at University of Hawaii. I have some friends working in Waikiki, Las vegas, SanFrancisco, New York making lots of money, but the out of state tuition here is too much. You’d be better off going to school where u live.
I had a friend that just finished her master’s degree in Japanese trourism in Hawaii. She lived outside honolulu for about 3 years and really loved it. However, she is now a manager for a tech company in Fiji and gets paid well.
I would talk to staff at the university in the program you are hoping to enter and ask them about jobs. Toursim seems like it would be a big industry there. Hope this helps!
I went to college for that, travel and tourism. And you know what, living here in New Jersey (where we have Newark, LaGuardia and Kennedy airports as well as a lot of hotels), I was told by my teacher that being in this field was not as good. That there were a lot of firings, not that much money to be made from being here. my own teacher said that.
now, getting back to you, Hawaii is really beautiful to stay, but, expensive. How about New York? go to New York, get your degree over here, or anywhere else less expensive and then, after your degree, find a job that fits your description over there.
school in Hawaii? would you seriously go with all the distractions around there?
