Trade and Industry
If China and India are causing 60% of pollution, then the UN should make them abide in some form with pollution controls. It was a big joke that both countries told Sec. Clinton to take a hike.
America has the pollution controls and many of these controls drove industry overseas due to costs. So instead of hammering our industry, wouldn’t it be tens times better to have the main culprits do something first. Once they do something then hammer what industry we have left.
Yes we need to save the environment, but we cannot do it alone. What they are proposing here is insane vs what the rest of the world does. It’s time that maybe China or India doesn’t make another nuke and uses that money to help with pollution. China, they say, has a coal fired unit coming on line every week vs one here and we are going to “cap and trade” it so electrical rates go up?
Like making a smelter here that has been online for 20 years add more controls for $5 million will make some difference. Then again the smelter may close and granted it may only employ sity people, but that is sixty tax paying jobs gone. Whereas if China were to put that much into a coal unit it might cut it by 17.5% or more vs 1/10th of 1% of a much smaller unit here.
If we are serious about the environment then start where the real problem is, not the ones that have been abiding by the regulations all along.
Trtust me didn’t think the UN would flex their muscle, ha, ha.
Hey that may not be a bad idea, we can just tax peopple and when they run out of money then no problem as they thencannot use anything. then again if this was say the “industrial age in Engalnd I could see letting Cina and friend have ago of it, but this is now.
Ice is melting!
I see where yo are coming from with the “stern letter”, but do you really think they will have to go that far? I mean no reason t over do it. But that is funny.
