You’re probably best renting a trade show display if you’re just starting out as buying a display can be costly and there’s generally only a few trade shows a year for you to choose from or their might be alot of travelling involved.
Alternatively you can ring up each of the stores you’d like to see you’re t shirts in, find out who the buyers are and briefly tell them about yourself and what you have to offer. Tell them you want your t-shirts to be marketed by a prestigous and well known company so naturally they came to mind first, be a little flattering and as polite as possible, without going over the top and ask if you can arrange an appointment where you might get the chance to pitch your product to them.
If your t shirts are the kind of thing they’re interested in selling, they’ll generally arrange a contract for a small order of t shirts to see how well they sell and if that goes well, then things pretty much just grow from their.
