how to start in the fashion world?

OK so I’ve always wanted to pursue a job in the fashion world, i just don’t know where to begin.
my main ideal job is to help fashion designers like help with ideas for new clothing or even a secretary job for a clothing company would be ideal, but where to begin?
what college classes do i take?
how to even get hired at a clothing company?
i would really appreciate it if someone could help me about this
